Terms of Use

Last updated: 16 June 2026

By using ExtensionTrust, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What our content is — and is not

ExtensionTrust publishes safety checks of browser extensions built from public, verifiable records — such as each extension's manifest and requested permissions, its public store listing, the publisher behind it, domain/WHOIS data, and the developer's own published privacy policy. Our scores and grades are our good-faith analysis and opinion based on that documented evidence, with sources cited.

Importantly, a score, grade or profile is not a statement that a publisher is fraudulent, dishonest, or engaged in wrongdoing. A low grade reflects gaps in the public evidence we could verify, not an accusation. We do not install or run extensions hands-on and do not claim to. The content is for general information only and is not legal, financial, security or professional advice. Always check an extension's own current permissions and terms and do your own due diligence before relying on it.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is". Public records change and may contain errors; we re-check on a schedule but cannot guarantee that every fact is current or complete at the moment you read it. We make no warranties about accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExtensionTrust is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content, including decisions to install or not install any extension.

Third-party names and links

Extension names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only (nominative fair use). Their appearance does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, those owners. We are independent and not affiliated with the extensions we assess. External links are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for third-party content.

User submissions

If you submit a report or message, you confirm it is truthful and your own, not defamatory or unlawful, and you grant us permission to review and, where appropriate, publish a verified summary of it. We may edit for clarity or decline to publish. We verify reports before they appear and may remove anything that cannot be substantiated.

Our content

The site's original text, structure and design are our intellectual property. You may quote and link to us with attribution; please do not republish substantial portions without permission.

Corrections

If you believe a profile contains a factual error, tell us via Dispute & Corrections. We correct verified errors, note the correction, and re-score where needed.

Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
